Christmas holidays and New Year’s celebrations are unimaginable without them. Ideal with warm beverages, dessert wines or sweet liqueurs. Crispy and delicious, they can be stored for a very long time in tin boxes to preserve their crispiness. And you have a sweet snack available whenever you like. 😉
Ingredients
140 g (4.95 oz) rough flour
140 g (4.95 oz) soft flour
200 g (7 oz) butter
80 g (2.8 oz) sugar
100 g (3.5 oz) ground walnuts or almonds
1 egg-white
For sprinkling:
powder sugar
2 packets vanilla sugar
Preparation
Prepare a short crust pastry with flour, butter, sugar, ground almonds or walnuts and egg-white. Wrap it in plastic foil and let stand at least an hour in a refrigerator.
After that form little crescents (7g/0.25 oz), arrange them on a baking pan covered with baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes at 180°C (356 °F).
When baked and still hot, roll them in powder sugar mixed with vanilla sugar.
Serving
Serve with warm tea or coffee or with nice dessert wine.
Note
This amount of pastry will give you about 100 crescents. Keep them in tin boxes so they preserve their crispiness.
