Favorite dish of my childhood. When my mom would surprise me preparing that dish, it was a public festival for me. 🙂 Easy preparation and fullness of flavor place this dish in the “must have” category.
Ingredients
1 kg (2.20 lb) chicken
salt
50 ml (1.70 fl oz) oil
400 g (14 oz) onions
3/4 flat tablespoon salt
300 ml (10.20 fl oz) water
200 ml (6.8 fl oz) sour cream
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 flat tablespoon paprika
1 tablespoon tomato paste
Preparation
Cut the chicken into pieces or buy pieces that are already sliced. Season with salt.
Cut the onions into small cubes and place in a wide pan on heated oil. Add salt and simmer for about 5 minutes until the onion becomes translucent. Arrange the chicken and fry briefly on both sides. Cover with water and simmer covered for 40 minutes.
Mix together with sour cream, cornstarch, paprika and tomato paste. Add a little liquid from the chicken stew, stir well and add the chicken. Briefly boil.
Serving
My favorite combination is with homemade dumplings. You can also serve with noodles. Accompany with lettuce.
