Scented and delicate elder blossoms soaked in water will release its medicinal properties that you can enjoy the year round. Diluted with water and with added sliced lemon and ice-cubes, it will refresh you during heats.
Ingredients
30 elder blossoms
3 l (12.7 cups) water
3 kg (6.6 lb) sugar
70 g (2.45 oz) citric acid
Preparation
Briefly rinse elder blossoms under running water in order to remove possible bugs, and then soak them in a larger glass bowl and cover with water. Let it sit for 24 hours.
On the next day sieve the liquid, add sugar and citric acid and mix until they dissolve. Pour the prepared syrup in bottles and keep in dark and cold place.
Serving
Dilute the syrup with water, with added sliced lemon and ice.
