You must surely wonder what trepa means. Consulting foreign words dictionary and linguists, we fail to find the exact meaning. But when talking about a cake, we could come close to translations of verbs breading or even tap. In this case apples :). Consisting of only few ingredients and very simple preparation, you get a delicious vintage cake. You can serve it warm or cold, it will be equally delicious.
Ingredients
1 kg (2.20 lb) apples
120 g (4.2 oz) sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 lemon
20 g (0.7 oz) butter
100 g (3.5 oz) corn flour
300 ml (3.4 fl oz) sour cream
For sprinkling:
crystal sugar
Preparation
Peel and grate the apples. Add sugar, cinnamon, grated lemon rind and mix it all well.
Coat the baking pan (18×30 cm/7×12 in) with butter. Distribute half the flour on the bottom of the baking pan, the distribute grated and lightly squized apples and then the other half of flour. Distribute well mixed sour cream on top of the cake.
Bake in oven previously heated to 180 °C for 40 to 45 minutes, when cream gets a nice colour.
Serving
Sprinkle the warm cake with sugar, cut in cubes and serve.
